GoodNotes Color-Changing Stickers
GoodNotes is one of the most popular note-taking and PDF annotator applications on the market for those of us who prefer digital paper. Understanding how much their users love digital stickers, they created an elements tool that allows you to turn anything you create into a reusable design. This feature opened up a world of creativity and has led to the use of GoodNotes color changing stickers.
A GoodNotes sticker is an artistic shape or design that was created within the GoodNotes app. It’s created using either the pen tool, the shape tool, the highlighter tool, or the text tool. Because these stickers were created within GoodNotes they can be edited in the app, which is why the color can be changed.
This is a big deal because digital planners, note-takers, and journal lovers enjoy using aesthetically pleasing décor that matches the color palette they’ve chosen for the day. Unlike the digital stickers created as an image file (png, jpg etc.), these stickers are not static in their style.
How Do You Change the Color of a Goodnotes Sticker?
Changing the color of GoodNotes Stickers
So, how do you change the color of these stickers? Well:
Using the lasso tool draw a circle around your desired sticker
Tap within the circle
Select color
Choose desired color
You can use any of the preset colors within GoodNotes, or you can select “custom” and enter the hex code of any color you like.
Sharing GoodNotes Stickers
GoodNotes stickers are shared as a “GoodNotes file” to preserve the ability to edit. If you make stickers that you’d like to share, you would:
click on the “share and export” icon
choose what you want to export (the entire document or just a page)
make sure “GoodNotes” is selecte
tap on “Export”
save your file
This method allows you to package up a set of GoodNotes stickers ready to be sent to anyone who has the GoodNotes app.
Importing GoodNotes Stickers
The person receiving the shared file would:
from the “Documents” dashboard, click on “New (+ sign)”
then select “import”
tap on the appropriate file from it’s saved location
Now your GoodNotes file is instantly imported and added to the GoodNotes library.
How To Use GoodNotes Stickers
So how do you use your GoodNotes stickers within your digital content?
Use the lasso tool to circle your desired sticker
Tap within the circle and select “copy.”
Within your chosen plans, journal entry, notes etc. tap and hold until a menu pops up
Select “paste.”
Your sticker, once pasted, can be moved anywhere you want it to. It can be resized using the double arrow in the bottom right corner. Tap anywhere on your page to leave the sticker “editing mode,” and set your sticker in place.
Now be careful of the eraser tool. Because the GoodNotes sticker was created within the app, anything that was designed using the pen tool, highlighter tool, or shape tool can be erased. But if that happens, no worries, just tap “undo” from the top right menu area of your GoodNotes app, or just go back to your imported sticker file and copy your desired design again. You really can’t lose or mess these designs up once the original is created.
What Exactly Can Be Changed With a GoodNotes Sticker?
The content that can be edited with a GoodNotes sticker all depends on how it was designed. Some stickers where 100% created using tools within GoodNotes (text tool, drawing tool, pen tool, highlighter tool, and shape tool). With this type of sticker the entire design can be edited in some way.
Other stickers are created using GoodNotes features to design the background, but are paired with content or designs in the form of an image file. These “hybrid” stickers are designed to keep some features static while allowing others to be dynamic. This is done to preserve some content so that it’s not lost while giving you flexibility in other places. These image files that are paired with the GoodNotes background can be removed or resized to match your preferred style.
